Just a note to say that I'm no longer a Tuscan owner. I'd like to thank everybody on this forum for the hours of endless amusement, excellent advice and general bonhomie. With your kind permission I'll visit from time to time.

Best regards to all.

Why did you get rid of an Apr '05 Tuscan S, mk2? (from your profile)
Bad experience or needed cash for the GT

I successfully wrote the car off when in poor weather the back end stepped out and I span accross lane 1 & 2 of a dual carriage way mounted the central reservation and span through lanes 2 & 1 of the otherside of the dual carriageway and then backwards into a ditch. All at about 60 miles an hour in pouring rain. When the car came to rest I pushed the button, got out and walked away. My good lady wife said that I could have whatever I wished provided it had airbags and traction control, hence the new GT!

Drive carefully in the wet!

Certainly somebody was smiling at me! If I didn't value my wife more than my car I would have bought another Tuscan S. However, now that I have settled into the Bentley it would take something stunning to get me out of it

It wasn't a short affair as I had a T1 before the T2. Loved them!

This could well be my old car. It's the right colour and the mileage is OK. If it is then it must have been re-built as my old car needed a complete new body shell, chassis, drive train, wheels etc. IIRC the price to rebuild the car was nearly 40k and the insurance price I was offered as a write off was 48k. The reason I took the money was three fold 1) My marriage is more important than my car, 2) I was worried that if I had the car rebuilt and then came to sell it at some point it would be on a register so the value would be downgraded and 3) My wife said that I could have any car that I liked provided it had airbags and traction control. Hence the Bentley Continental GT! Which, incidentally is an awesome machine.

£40k rebuild! That's serious - I can understand why you've gone for the 'safer' option!

To be honest I would be surprised if that was a total write off....

Glad to hear you and your wife were ok. If that is your car on Ebay then what a beauty that must have been to behold, shame it ended like that.

Don't let them get to you! I think he's having a pop at the bloke on eBay (or the insurance company) for potentially selling something that’s worth £48k fully sorted, for £15k 'damaged repairable'. Allegedly it needs £40k's worth of work doing to make it right. The maths don’t add up.

Therefore based on your earlier comments, it’s probably not your car.

Sorry for opening the can of worms!
