Ashcroft: I feel like Jesus

Richard Ashcroft says he feels like Jesus Christ.

According to The Sun he said: "I love the man, I feel like him."

The Verve frontman continued: "There's only Richard Ashcroft and Liam Gallagher who know what it feels like. We're the only ones who know how many people we've touched and how powerful that is.

"I feel like I'm on a one-man mission. I'm here to use my tools and my gift to take them to a higher level."

I know, I know, most likely a load of B0110x seeing as the sun have reported it

Does he still look like he needs a good meal? Poor chap.

Has he made a decent record since he left The Verve?

Not a massive fan of Ashcroft but I do want my music stars to think like this, I'm so sick of Pap-Factor winners saying that other people should have won, and doing the gracious winner thing, sod that, stand up and tell the world your better than the others thats why you won
I also want them to die young in a blurr of coke and hookers

C'mon People (We're making it now)?

Personally I could listen to him all day long.

I'm thinking tongue firmly in cheek if he has said this.

Didn't Paul McCartney or John Lennon make some sort of comparison between the Beetles and Christ or am I imagining it? I think Ashcroft was probably quoted out of context. Quite a common journalistic technique when needing to put a bit of top spin on a story. I wouldn't get upset about it though. I love his vocals and it's a shame there aren't more decent song writers around to match his talent. Shame he has not produced anything remarkable since his Verve days though.

John Lennon said The Beatles were bigger than Jesus.

Which was ostensibly true.

Ended their career in America though.

And then didn't Liam Gallagher say that Oasis were bigger than The Beatles?
