Now I suspect the purists amongst you may scoff at some of these but at the end of the day, the customers got what they wanted and were very happy so I am cool with that!! What do you guys think?

Hughjayteens,
Could I ask a favour and call on your Lambo audio expertise ?
I want to replace the (shite) standard door speakers in the doors of my Murcielago (5 1/4" I think???) - trouble is most of the modern speakers seem to be those weird "spider" style ones (as are the ones currently fitted)- which I really don't like! I want a simple plain pair (albeit good quality) that have a plain mesh grille over the front (like Alpines did in the old days) - trouble is all the ones that we've tried to date have had such a pronounced dome/hump on the grille's that they interfere with the dashboard of the car when you try to close the doors (scissor doors) - my local dealer only stocks Kenwood and Pioneer and neither of these brands will do the job - and he says all the other speakers he can get are either domed grille or have a spider cage so he's clueless what to try next
So the question is - what good quality, standard sized speakers can I get which will fit, and be flush faced (with a plain grille) such that the door will close OK?
Sorry for being long winded!
Thanks

Jonny5 - I think it would be inappropriate to talk about customers bill's on a public forum, but please feel free to email me for more details.
Dealmaker - the Murci takes a 6.5" speaker in the doors, but as you correctly point out, you are very limited in terms of depth (if you look at the factory grilles you'll see they have a flat spot on them to clear the dash).
We generally use a DLS Ultimate 6.5" mid bass driver as this has a neodymium magnet assembly and drops straight in, with the grilles clearing the dash perfectly!
They are about £400 a set (with tweeters and crossovers) but need an amp with at least 50 watts rms per channel to run properly.
I couldn't advise you just to change the speakers and power them from the head unit as that is worse quality than the speakers!!
