Picked up a copy of the Alien Quadrilogy boxed set last night from Tescos.

The definitive Aliens boxed set, all 4 films, directors cut and regular cinema release versions of the films and endless special features. 9 discs in all.

This was £70 in various places last year, its in the Teco DvD section for £22.
Of course spending another tenner on a model Alien queen to perch on top of the boxed set on the shelf may have been a little sad...

Bit of a bargain!

Anyone else seen any "too good to miss" DvD offers on at the moment?

A quick search on Amazon on that one shows £25 quid for used copies being the cheapest, the rest run the gamut from £40 onwards.

Dammit I've just seen the "alien head" edition. I want the pewter alien head lol!

Did you pick it up in store or online. Online appears to be sold out already!

Virgin are doing the Miami Vice series 1 box set in the sale for £25 instead of £50, only when you take it to the till they charge you £20 and give yuo two addict points worth £2. So the 8 DVD boxset only sets you back £18. Beauty.

I have found that whatever supermarket you are in it's worth checking out the CDs and DVDs. I got Collateral in Adsa about 6 months ago for a fiver and Torque in Sainsburys for three quid.

Funny how its only "Aliens" that really bears repeated watching now though...

Ah but "Alien" was a classic suspense movie whereas "Aliens" was a classic action movie.

But have you watched the restored story cut of number 3? Totally different film (Alien does not burst from the dog at all, and they do catch it halfway through). Its actually a good film now.

Yes, it's quite a different film. Supposedly the studio messed with the script and filming so much that David Fincher disowned it and walked away from the project before its release.
