993 Tubo S air scoops

Have been wondering, are the 993 Turbo S air scoops in the rear wings functional, or are they merely for show??

From memory the right one is the fresh air intake for the engine. As to whether it actually makes a differnce that's quite another question.

The Turbo S rear wing is very effective at blocking off airflow from above to the intercooler on a rolling road.
