sprinting cerbs

There are a few of us on this forum that sprint their cerbs. The TVRCC championship starts again on 19 march and comprises 18 events between March and October all around England including Airfields(very safe) circuits (very quick) and hill climbs (very scary).
I know alot of people attend trackdays etc (ive seen CIRVY at a couple)and sprinting is just the next step. All you need is a licence-no test just £30 and a race suit £200 and you are sorted. A cerb of any variety is instantly very competitive cos its very rigid being a hard top, very safe being a hard top and F~~~~~~g quick being a TVR.
Honestly when you first roll up to the start line and the light goes green the adrenaline rush is better than a whole day on the track!
You will also be surprised that it doesn't cost a fortune. An entry is typically £60-80 and you use £5 fuel in a day. My brake pads and tyres Toyo R888's (very very soft) lasted the whole of last year (4000 miles road and track use) and are still on the car for the beginning of this season. Honestly in a season it creates less damage and wear on the car than a couple of track days so come along and have a go. It's great.

This is something i have considered, but at the moment i'm really loving the trackday thing & feel very much that i've still a lot of fun to be had from that. Also i have the added burden of a very young & demanding family & a job that often takes me into the weekends, very dull i know 
Having said that, i reckon in a couple of years, i'll be in a better position to look into this
But Jez, you are right, it is the next step for the track warriors amongst us, & maybe as Cerbs get older & come down in value, more & more will join the sprinting fold.

Cirvy-I have not sprinted at cadwell but I assume that a run will begin at the pits exit and finish just before the left hander to return to the paddock. it should be fun.

I am thinking of aquiring a cerb and would like to do some sprints and hillclimbs, done qite a few in my Cobra rep and an Aston V8.
Just not sure what to do about door locks, not keen on the potential for a failure due to no power and being trapped?
Anyone crossed this bridge before - I would love to hear your thoughts and recomendations for prepairing the car for these types of events.

there's a manual release inside the car for you to sue in teh event of electrical failure, would be sensible to add an extra version for the outside so marshalls could bail you out too , but in itself not a big job i wouldn't think.

I had a very embarrassing situation last week, i drove to work in the morning when it was about -5 . tried to get out of the car, my doors aren't working at the moment so proceded to operate the doors with the red pull handles. THEY WERE ICED UP !!! shit i thought what now, so i had to wait until one of the lads i work with came in the car park . I then had to pleed with him to let me out of the you know what route, which he did after a lot of pi-s taking.
Well I'm very excited, I picked up my race suit this morning complete with TVR logos 
I'm nervous and excited at teh same time but can't wait to get out there and give it a go.
I saw from a recent posting by Steve Cox that he will be closing the entrants list at the end of the month, so be quick if you want a go.
I'm lucky in some ways as I live down south but the in laws live just outside Halifax so that gives me a 'base' for the more northern events, i'm hoping to attend mainly sprints this year but will try to get to a hillclime or two to see how it's done.
I haven't done many track days, but thought I'd like to meet like minded people and have a bit of fun, hense joining the championship.
So far it's cost me the MSA Licence: £33, Nomex race suit: £270, Tyres: £300, Race harness: £100, and plumbed in extinguisher: £120. You don't need the harness or extinguisher, but I though for the money it's money well spent, you can also use a Proban race suit which is a lot cheaper than a 3 layer Nomex item.
If anyone's in kent they might try AWS in Ashford, they call themselves the Britains most successful producer of race suits, and in my mind supporting a UK firm gets the thumbs up. www.advanced-wear.co.uk

That would have freaked me out !!!!
I guess I would have left engine running and hot air on to try and melt my way out !!!

Wouldn't the windows go down either? I would have tried a dukes of hazzard exit if they did.
