Unfortunately the interior photo is a little out of focus because my camera isn't very good.

Anyhow, the link is here:

nicely finished running boards
press stud front to hood instead of usual rail and rubber v attatchment
late 1600gt based engine - prolly 711m
doors look like they got bigger windows than mine
would like to see a slab side view of those doors could just be the angle of pic
tyres nicely fill big arches too

Wow this is great I had no idea my Geep would recieve such nice comments as I've not seen another one properly to make a comparison!

I've spotted that other one in Worcester once though.

I'll tell you how much I paid for it... £500! Those pics are from when I had finished washing it. I don't think I used Auto Glym Super Resin Polish then though, but I'll tell you something, it looks even better when you use that. I used back to black on the interior and the hood. There's one almighty scratch on the bonnet though.

Let Swizz know? What about, becoming a member? I've already got the application form filled out, but I haven't sent it. I've told you that already though I think!

The steering wheel you see there is what came with it, I have since put my own one on which is similar but a little bigger so it's easier to steer (no power steering you see). And the aluminium plate in the middle has been turned around so it's bare, but I've bought some nice RS badges from eBay. I will put one in the middle of that.

Drseg, what was that 711M thing about?

As regards the year, It says 1983 on the V5 but I don't know anything about its donor car.

I'll take some more pics of the exterior in the summer, that's when I'll really start working on it even though I'll have to prepare for Uni at the same time...

nah...let Swizz know about your pics to put up on the JOC site, the more on there the merrier especially good examples like yours. (You'll probably have to join the club first though...not sure) I know you'll be able to put your posting and the link on the 'newbie' section anyway.

I think that you must have been in the right place at the right time when you bought your Jeep, so good luck to you....I on the other hand would have probably walked away thinking £500 ???...must be something wrong lol....but there again I could be put in a field with one duff car and ninety nine good ones, and if I was asked to pick out one for myself, not only would I manage to pick the duff one, but I'd buy the bugger as well.

Good luck whatever you do and enjoy your Jeep.

Hi Donna,
If the V5 says 1983 then i'd go with that. The last three digits of the chassis number will tell you. Mine is 915 (year 1991 - month May)
The hood with the pop studs on the front is from the same time also. The doors will be home made & look like a decent job. It will have had sidescreens originally to go with the hood - thats what the popstuds down the screen pillars were for.
The wings are early 80s also & are the wide ones for 15" wheels with spats on the back arches. Big boots those are so your new steering wheel will make life easier
The gallery i'm afraid is for members only so get the forms sent off to Alan - theres a newsletter due out soon too so sooner the better. You'll get full access to the club forum then also at www.jagoownersclub.co.uk
Cheers,
Swizz...

nice car and nice camerawork too, sounds like you got a good deal.
i'm not over keen on the bars at the front on jago's, a little over sized i think, a smaller version would look better, will think about making one when i've got my cvh running.

Great looking Geep Donna! Brilliant to see another blue one...

It looks in great nick, and judging by the price a bit of a bargain too. Will you making it to any shows this year?

And get that membership form sent off!

Well hopefully your Uni will be near a show! Good luck and keep us all up to speed on how life with the Geep goes!

Have you tried the JOC forum on the club site. Might be useful for techie pointers and meets, etc. There is a newbie section you can use for posts until you are a full member, well worth making use of it.

<digs up old post, pulls up one very muddy thread>

With reference to my own question about what's a 711M, I've found out what one is by buying a book on the kent crossflow... nice to know it might be a 711M

donna if you open the bonnet of you jeep and looking from the front on the jeep the ENGINE NUMBER is on the passingger side under the exhaust between the engine mount and where the gearbox meets the engine if i find a way to put a pic on where it is i will to help you find it ok.
