How many previous owners ?
Discussion
Does seem to have changed hands rather regularly, but whats the history like? I would want to see a fat and extensive history file with this car. Another way of looking at it though is that's had 8 seperate incomes at it's disposal so it could of had a lot of money lavished on it, a very thick wodge of receipts would be needed though to substantiate this.
Having said that I do know people that sell rather than fork out for repairs and pass the problem on.
Do your home work and try and stay objective in this case, what's the spec. and price and get a look at the MOT's to try and establish how many miles each owner has done.
Good luck

Simon,
Cerbera's tend to collect owners a lot easier than most cars.. a combination of running costs, buying with wrong expectations (either the realistic dayily usability / reliability or having "4" seats), inability (the car scares / has scared them) usually leads to these cars moving on.
TBH. whilst it's almost had 1 owner per year it really depends on the condition and servicability of the car. If you have little experience in cerbera functionality/ normal operating sounds/smells then try to take someone who does know along as missed niggles can quickly rack up bills shortly after purchase.
If it’s been sold through a dealer a number of times then you can expect that a number of additional niggles to have been sorted out during the sales process (+ve). If it’s been sold privately then you need to check through the cars service history.
Try phoning some of the garages who have stamped the service book, maybe they can fill in any “additional works” to the car that may be missing.
Also look for any reliability upgrades that have been made such as a modified clutch and break seals etc. a car having all these will be far less keen to spend all your hard earned.
After that it’s down to spec and upgrades of your personal choice.
Oh... and maybe someone on here may know the car if you post a link?

i have to say i would be tempted myself but wonder how much he wants for it?, and what its worth?
there is also this one on there:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TVR-Cerbera-4-2_W0QQitemZ46017
i asked the reserve and he said £10.5k which seems terribly cheap to me?

yes it was the one in the first link i was refering to.
Spoke to the owner/trader. reserve is £13,300. same car is £14995 on auto trader.
Still waiting for him to come back to me on more detailed info on the cars service history before i look at it.
Second one does seem very cheap if thats the reserve, but i really dont want a green one, just my personal opinion.

first one looks like it has already gone beyond what I would pay for it on ebay
Really??? thought it would be worth more than £10k. or should i leave this one?
I thought it was buying blind ? If you get a test drive and an inspection then the reserve seems like the top price.
£14995 for a 96 4.2 seems steep when later cars with 4.5 engines are so much more sorted and sought after and are only £2-£4K more.
Still 8 owners! I would want it cheap with that number of owners.
Is the current person a dealer or has he cherished it.

I viewed the car at the someset garage back in november when it was priced £1K higher but i went for the one at Hamiltons which was in A1 condition.
Dominic is a top bloke and the service i have recieved was excellent and so far (touch wood) the car has given me 2500 miles of trouble free motoring.

number of previous owners wouldnt really bother me on a car like this. Lots of people that buy them have a fair bit of cash, and imo like to change their cars every year. Check out how many miles it done by each owner every year, and whats been spent on it.
As for the 2nd one on ebay, it was on ebay a month or 2 ago, and had a fair old bit of body work needed. Inc a scuff on the o/s sill. Funnilly enough tho they havnt included those pics this time??!

i think been dishonest about the car on e bay is out of order, what if it gets bidded up way past £10.5k and some poor unsuspecting guy comes to collect what looks to be a fair car only to find it needs loads of work and is a complete dog.
The 8 owner one has just met its reserve of £13,400.
As the blokes a trader I wonder if it'll come with any sort of warranty?
There's also another one claiming to be a 97 / Y reg but when you look closer it's some sort of private plate beginning with Y:
