I need some good advice.

I am looking for a Boxster and I have been offered a 2.7cc.

My question is should I be concerned about a 'C16-UK BUILT CAR "PARALLEL IMPORT?"

Does anyone have any experience of this?

Insurance wise there does not seem to be a problem.

Many thanks

Mike

I bought a c16 996 and had Porsche main dealers interested in buying it from me a couple of months ago.
C16 actually means that the car conforms to european rhd legislation..as in correct bumper heights, lights etc...as opposed to a japanese or australian rhd car.
The thing that you have to consider is that this doesn't neccesarily mean the car is uk spec...as in the things that may be standard on uk dealer ordered cars which may be seen as extras in the country the car is ordered from.....It is important you get a good spec on the car for re sale, however when i considered selling my car there appeared to be predudice from private enquiries over the C16 aspect rather than from Porsche dealers...

I have actually seen C16 cars that are not full UK dealer spec...It may be England as in bumper height etc..but it does not appear to be Porsche GB dealer spec as in silly things as in cd interchange wiring loom ready for a 6 disc interchanger even if you did not order this as an option.
The point being made is you must get a C16 BUT you must get the total spec for Porsche UK cars & ensure you match this to ensure a sensible rsale value.

When I was enquiring to buy a 996C4S eight months ago, I was told the same as commented here by RSJ by AFN and HR Owen that the code was for a UK car. They said that they would not make a distinction between such an import and a UK car they had imported. IIRC there was one difference that you would have to pay extra for and that was the stereo?? Check out www.carreramotors.bv for more details as they said the same thing to me aswell.
