hello,
I have a MKiV 1800s, whic still drives well and which looks OK, but the chassis is still original and obviously begins to show some serious sign of weakness.
Next winter I will certianly put the car off the road for a fulll rebuild, I don't plan to make the job alone, but expect to participate as much as I can.
does anybody has some photos of a body off process job? Any tips about the work are welcomes as the guy who will take the car has very good experience in classic car restoration but never worked on a TVR before.
Also are all the Grantura chassis are just "fixed", or like for the M there are some chassis avialble new?

thanks,

Xavier.

Hello xavier.

New chassis are available for the coil sprung cars. The chassis is very similar if not identical to Vixen S1. It is however bonded to the chassis.

You have a number of options.

Cut the body of yourself and have a go or give it to a guy who has done a good number and works at value for money costings.

Have a look at this website and say neil sent you.

You can also mail me directly if you want to see pics of the work.

You might want to have a chat with Chris Overton who did a full 1800 S rebuild about 10 years ago - as he's a photographer by trade..........

Sent you Chris' email address separately

Hope you've got a lot of courage as you have to cut the floor out and cut the bodywork around the flitch plates (which the doors hang on) to get the chassis off. From that point onward it's a bit easier....
