Hi, can anyone tell me if there is a difference in the the distributors fitted to the landrover v8 and the rover sd1 v8 both have the same part no35DLM8 , but are they both the same internally ie,do they both advance the same ,the land rover having a slightly lower compression engine than the sd1 or the tvr unit,is it okay to fit one from the landrover? will it perform just as well as the sd1 unit? any help will be welcome thanks.

Could be the same. Think that the amplifier on the side identifies the major different possibilities.
Remark: if you get another one, would recommend to exchange the weights from your old to the replacement to make sure you keep the same advance characteristics.

If you have questions try to contact Wedg1e on here (bet he will give a remark to your question anyway), he sorted his dizzy problem and is very knowledgeable.

A search on distributor in the wedge forum will also give a few posts (like over 20).

Yes it should work: as Rob says, worse case scenario you may have to swap the advance weights. Even then, for a standard 3.5 I doubt there were any differences...
