I have 9 invitations left to dish out for Windows Live Messenger Beta, effectively Messenger 8.0.

There's some nice new features, such as voice calling, shared folders and offline messaging.

Post your e-mail address below if you want to be invited, you can delete them afterwards to avoid spambots harvesting it.

I did sign up for the webmail beta thing they had, but that didn't like Firefox either so I opted out of it.

I don't mean to be ungrateful, but what does it do different to the previous version? The hover-over contacts to open the options seems nifty, as does the shared folder thing, is there anything else?

If anyone wants to say hello to me and try out bits and bobs, my msn address is my PH username at hotmail com.

Woohoo! You can change other people's nicknames! That was the only reason I used Trillian so I think I'll stick with MSN now.

I should take back what I said earlier about it not being much different to the previous version - the file sharing thing is pretty useful, it has a Skype type phone thingy ($0.027 per minute to landlines) which I haven't tried yet.

You can also save your contact list, though I don't see why as I thought it was held on the MSN server.

I can't login at all now - not been able to all day long.

It was working fine last night.

Working fine for me (at least it does when my connection works but that's not MSN's fault).
