TOTB V news is out
Discussion
entries are given to individual clubs/forums though I dont see why PH couldnt enter organise a decent team, bet there would be quite a few VMAX'ers up for it and it would be welcome additions to see a varity of cars.
The only problem with a mixed team at TOTB is the different classes, its split into front/rear/4 wheel drive groups
if you have something special they also have invite guest cars

This is one event I WILL be attending this year!
Please can ZR136, ZR1Cliffy, Hong Kong Dicky and any other like competitors get in touch asap
I will probably give it a miss and go for the Norfolk/Suffolk event nige,it sounds like the TOTB has got too popular now and not so much fun.
Nige i agree with cliff, also the way we were treated last year, they can poke it up their a**e too expensive and not good value for money. If terminal velocity is on this year you would be better off going to that, you will get more runs in and enjoy yourself more.By the way HAPPY NEW YEAR to you and jan.

Popularity isnt a bad thing.
The event being full of trailered, full on race cars is.
Its laughable when you hear a lot of the guys claim they are road legal. Most are, but far too many are not.
That said, it is still fun to enter.

To be honest stevie its become a victim of its own success and too busy,to go all that way and not get many runs in ,you have to ask is it really worth it,plus TV sounds like you have more room with less people around, and time to do more runs.
I also think its a farce to go all that way driving a street car for a "Street Event" only to be pitted against race teams.
To me a street car should have both headlights and be driven to the track from your home without slicks.
Not something that only comes out for events on a trailer with a headlight missing for cooling, running slicks and a full team of mechanics ready to change ratios for every type of race.
That too me is not a car that you would bump into on the streets and doesnt give the ordinary petrolheads like us a chance to compete.
If someone gives me a fair crack of the wip then they get my money, otherwise ile go else where.
Good report in the vette mag by the way ,your car is strong, which enforces my point....blokes like you need to be treated fairer.

Another reason for not going- Tim Westwood will be there again!
Such an understatement.
That guy is a complete **** ( fill in the blanks )
Even I have gave in a little and bought softer tyres. But I drove to teh event on those tyres, from Northern Ireland. In milage its maybe not as far as some, but in terms of hassle its more than most people in order to get to the event.
Probably about a 5-600 mile round trip, if we just go to Elvington and back, + the ferry over of course.
A simple check could eliminate a few illegal entries. As you say, cars with missing headlights etc are clearly illegal for the road.
I'd also make a point about cars not running catalytic convertors. That too makes pretty much anything 92 onwards illegal.
I also disagree with the use of race fuel at such events. And that definately includes the methanol power RC Developments Evo !!! It doesnt run petrol at all !
And definately no trailers. If people insist on bringing a car on a trailer, it should have points deducted.
After all, there are 3 disciplines. I think there should be a fourth. Actually driving it on the road !!! If you drive it there and back, you get points. Thats only fair for people who run genuine road cars is it not ?

I drove mine 250 miles up there, raced it all day, toured round the local countryside with my other half and drove it 250 miles home again the next day. In fully air-conditioned comfort I might add, that's what I call a real street car. Oh and it runs 11's all motor on pump petrol and didn't cost five figures to build. No race fuel, slicks, missing headlights, trailers or support teams required.
Hats off to the other real street cars like Steve who drove to the event. Unless the rules are changed as Steve suggests, I'm giving it a miss.
