PASSENGER FOOTWELL LIGHT?

It appears that some Griffs have a passenger footwell light - some behind the glove box. I don't appear to have one and wondered if this was standard or not.

hi dave just posted on the perspex thread that mine is tucked in behind the door pillar about half way up, only had the car 18 months so its nice to learn something new every now and then

Are you sure your looking in the right place?I thought they all had one?

I'll check again tomorrow in the day light. I've looked under the glove box, left-hand side. Feeling a bit left out at not having one!!!!

I have one and sometimes it works.

I've got one.
It's wired into the loom behind the dash and links up with the main courtesy light loom on the bulkhead. Theres a connector between the footwell light and the loom which needs to be disconnected when you remove the dash so you don't pull on the wires. Might be worth tracing and following if your light doesn't work to make sure the connector's connected.

I didn't realise what this was.

I've spent nearly a decade under the impression that it was a clever little devise that could be neatly triggered by the heel of a departing passenger in order to remove excess charge from the battery.

Silly me.

I found this a couple of weeks ago while I was mucking about under the dash, switched it on using the "on/off" switch and hey presto!
Then yesterday an absolute revelation - there's one in the boot too! Just suddenly lit up.....

Blimey, I've got one as well. Doesn't work though, but I wonder if it might be the cause of a few flat batteries for those that haven't noticed it.

I found that one a while back and it works fine.

I was thinking at the time if came across it if it was a standard item or some kind sparky in the the Blackpool factory saying to himself, 'might as well put a light in here, whoever drives this car will probably be spending a lot of time in the footwell anyway, so we might as well make it easier for him'.

Gone and checked for boot light - and haven't got one of them either! Cutbacks when they made mine it seems!

I was feeling really smug for a while my precat has the passenger footwell light!! but having checked last night it seems no boot light!

Been bad since Boxing day with a chest infection so progress has been slowed but there's still plenty to see.

Carbon dash is in, suspension's off and chassis cleaned up and half primed. Wishbones are ready to go off for shot blasting.

Got new shocks, ASB links, stainless steel brake lines etc. Just making some new Stainless Steel exhaust fittings and hope to be in position to put the roll-bar in shortly.

Nip over when you want, just give me a call first.

Yes, but did you check in darkness or daylight? I have just realised that the reason I have never seen the bootlight before was that I've never opened the boot in darkness in the garage before! Not the brightest star in the firmament (the boot light, not me!)

Passenger footwell light i have, but always thought it pretty useless until i gave a very leggy lady in a short skirt a lift, it then became extremly dangrous when knocked on

Noticed on your profile your Griff is the LE, one of the last ones. Does anybody know if TVR put them in older Griffs as i don't think i have one in the boot either on my '97 Griff?
