Hello
When using iTunes to import a CD, it uses as close to 100% of my CPU as it can. Is this normal behaviour for iTunes or does it suggest a weakness in my PC config? I've got an AMD 1.1Ghz with 512MB RAM.
Cheers!

It will use as much CPU power as possible to rip the CD as fast as possible. If you have a fast enough CPU the speed of the CD drive will be the limiting factor, but it sounds like you can read the CD faster than you can encode it. Nothing to worry about really.

The CPU will distribute processing power across all services of similar priority, i.e. if you start something else at the same time as Itunes, then they will share. Also, whilst I wouldn't say this of Itunes, certain applications (badly written ones) can show 100% CPU when this is not in fact the case.

Nothing to worry about.
