doesnt look like i will be going, first year i would have been driving myself as well, 4th time overall.

apparently my mum has some friends coming over from canada the weekend that the race is on, and wants us all to be there (me & me dad) so doesnt look like i will be able to go. but i was considering going anyway.

what does everyone think i should do?

it doesnt look like i will be able to get out of it but i really want to go!!!

(trust me to answer my own question, well it is 4.10am - need bed)

They are your mums friends, so you might as well go to Le Mans

You can't put your life on hold for someone elses, do you know your Mum's friends at all, as if not I reckon you should go.

My borther is expecting his first child a few days before the race and I'm getting pressure from my parents to not go this year so I can go and visit the new born baby. But, I'm only away for six days, mewborn babies all look and do pretty much the same thing, so I'm not going to miss much, so I've chosen to go to Le Mans and fact the whinging later

You have to go, you can always meet the friends another time, but you can never get to see the race again

Why do you feel that you should stay? Are these old friends who have known you since childhood or are they just friends of your mum?

What do you WANT to do?

Personally - I'd go - they didn't have to come that weekend did they!

Personally I think you should stay, mothers wishes are very important in life. She has probably put a lot on hold in her life to raise you and it is time to give a bit back. Sorry but that is how I feel.

You should go without a seconds thought.

My first child is due the week after so I won't be going this year, just incase, but my brother and a lot of my friends are going and have been commisioned to get the champagne to wet the baby's head with when they return.

Tripps - the baby is likely to be up to 2 weeks late so you're unlikely to miss the birth despite your mother's protestations. Bring back some champers for them and all will be cushtie!!

Our first was a day early, so don't beleive all those "first child is always late" rumours you hear

Sod bringing them back bubbly though, I'll be mixing that with vodka for our night at the funfair, nothing better than drinking Russia's finest while sitting on the big wheel watching the race go by in a blur

That's quite true, can't imagine the missus giving me permission to have an affair after all...

Somehow let your mum know that you madly fancy ones of her friends and have had a ding-dong in the past (don't say who though) - I'm sure she'll be less worried about you being there then, busy finding out which of her friends ravaged you

Big question is.. when did you last see these people?
Have they any fit daughters?
Could be be the scrawny little girl you fell out with 6/7 yrs ago has turned into the babe of your dreams.
So, my advise...........................Go anyway but book an extra ticket just incase.
