Cerbie Misfiring / New HT Leads - Update
Discussion
Hi all,
I successfully managed to change the HT Leads on my 4.2 Cerbie this Sat. Got myself a set of Magnecor Race Leads from ACT. Tim sent the leads to me on Fri and I received them on Sat. Fantastic service !
I also also inspected the both coil packs which looked to be fine, however on one of the coil packs the plug of the ECU lead had water in it. Not good - so I cleaned it out with some WD40. However I noticed that the plub did have some type of contact grease / lubricant in it but with my very limited knowledge of electronics / electrical systems I couldn't be sure what it was. The substance looked transparent and had a consistency like hair gel (sorry for the stupid analogy). Is it maybe a silicon type insulation grease? And where can I get it from ?
By the way - with the new HT Leads the Cerb just runs CERBTASTIC !!
Cheers,
P

had the same problem with mine ... my leads were shot and
had only just been serviced so wasnt too pleased!
One of my leads outercasing had broken down so much you could
see the centre core!
Needed the car for CREAM 2005 so ended up fitting some cheaper leads
as they were all my servicing indie had in stock...
happy motoring ... DAS
