Musing with my mechanic about what on earth would ever tempt me to sell the 993 RS, neither of us was sure whether Ruf built a lightweight n/a version of the 993 (in the same way as the 996 based RGT).

I suspect I would quickly find the answer if I could work out how to order the book (and DVD) advertised on the Ruf site (which I would like to), but I'm hoping a PHer (Adamt?) will know the answer.

Hi Colin,

Im afraid not, only produced turbocharged cars in the 993 variant. But I would still drop Ruf a line just incase........

info@ruf-automobile.de You should be asking Marc Bongers any questions, he is superb and wrote the book you are after

all the best

I have the book and the DVD.

I don't recall seeing a Ruf'd non-turbo 993. Basically Ruf have generally done only turbo upgrades, as there is so little to be gained from non-turbo tuning, without losing driveability and it costing a great deal. The exceptions are the newer RGTs and the Boxster-based 911 engined conversions.
