Google for Time Server

Theres a specific protocol for keeping clocks in sync with an atomic clock maintained by the US Navy, in fact theres loads of them.

Mine reports that its currently 3 milliseconds out, bless it.

I suppose that would be the Naval Time Protocol then?

Dunno, desperately trying to forget some TLAs in order to remember a whole new raft of them...

Don't know if this is any use to you as I don't know what you need it for, but www.ntp.org might be a good jumping off point. Have a look at the 'time servers' and 'public services' sections.

If you want to keep a 2K machine synced to an atomic source it's 'net time /setsntp:uk.pool.ntp.org' then set the 'windows time' service to automatic or in XP its in control pannel/date & time. In linux you can use ntpd or ntpdate if they're installed.

Hope this helps

Don't forget that when you are on an MS W2k3 network, the member/bdc servers will only sync with the PDC. You need to point your PDC to your external source and all will be well...

So what exactly do you want to achieve and why is an atomic clock so important?
