GT3 RS Front splitter height

What height is the gt3rs front splitter from the ground and how much lower is it than on the 996tt. I really fancy changing my Exige for one but I'm concerned that I may struggle to get out of my drive as my 996tt just catches.

Although, you could take the plastic lip spoiler off, which some owners
i know have done, and only think it may be a sefety issue at serious 130+ speeds.

Quite easy to fit/remove.

The front lip is approx 8cm from the ground, but as Glenn says you can remove the splitter. I have similar issues with my drive way and if I take it at an angle everything is fine.

I haven't had my splitter on for over six months and it has absolutely no affect on the cars handling as ANY speed. It was impossible to enter any car park in Barcelona without some horrible noises with it fitted and I still get some problems even though I approach at some silly angles. Include your normal routes and parking as part of the test drive.

I fully agree. Picked up my GT3 from Exeter OPC last Wednesday morning. Drove back to Plymouth only to find that it could not be driven over the footpath to access my drive. A Council rep. was suppoosed to be at my house at 1100 today to discuss lowering the footpath ( I have to pay) but he/she didn't tun up.
At the end of the day I may have to remove the lower lip , but even then I don't think it will be enough, unless the footpath is taken down a bit.

Temp Top Tip....

Lay a scaffold board in the gutter across your driveway. If it works consider soaking in creosote or treating with black Sadolin preservative, could also consider bolting it down to prevent the bloke you found it from taking it back.....

If you find the right angle of attack, it lessens the grounding problem.
I have more probs with the plastic brake ducts grounding, but these are easy to straighten out or fasten back to chassis leg.

It used to bother me every time something grounded, but now it's just par for the course with this type of car, also the plastic splitter and brake ducts are deemed as consummables.. ask Glenn

i like having the lip spoiler on my mk1 because i can hear it grating and it gives a good warning that your about 1" away from grounding something more expensive..

Obviously you have to be pretty careful but it's amazing what you can get over with the right technique....one wheel at a time...even if it does make other drivers think you're a prat!

Worst grounding I ever had was taking the GT3 down a ramp in an NCP multi-storey car park.

Going up the ramps was fine.

However going down (even at an angle very very slowly) there was a 1x1 inch gap in the cement at the bottom of the ramp which attracted the lip into it all the time - horrible.

A lot of minutes later, the right angle, crossed fingers and a line of cars behind me, got it out without ripping the spoiler off.

Watching recent episode of Top Gear when they had trouble getting the Zonda and Ford GT out of a car park reminded me a lot of that.
