Touring Tennessee in a 928 (mid-winter run)

thankfully the weather this year is moderate, and it was nearly 70-degrees F this last weekend! We chose the 928 for some touring (we have two other porsches and a TVR, and a couple volvos in the stable) and had a wonderful afternoon, beginning with brunch at a small village cafe out in the hinterlands.

Here is a photo that shows off the speed of a 928 while it is standing still. This is a 1983 "S" model, which was the fastest car sold in North America at the time.

My 928 looks like it will get a good airing this weekend if I go on the London tunnel run, I am based in Scarborough but work in Hull (50 miles down the coast). Normally I use a company car to commute but Saturday I will take the Porsche, finish at 6, hop in and drive down to London (about 230 miles), meet at midnight, take part in the tunnel run, leave at 330am or so and head back up ready for work again on Sunday morning.

Hi guys, I've owned the car for somewhere around 5-years or so, and have put around 20,000 to 25,000 miles on it so far, and it's just a spoiler. ONce you've driven one of these, nothing else will do. I know the 5-speed isn't the smoothest, but the torque is intoxicating and the car is still able to perform in great fashion. This evening in the rain, after dark, I drove it home on the interstate, finally getting out onto the country roads, and having the power and handling at your disposal when needed is a big safety factor.

Hey that tunnel run sounds pretty much fun, good luck, and good for you getting out for something exciting like that.
