Congratulation! what color did you order? and when do you espect the first parts?
MB or BMW...difficult indeed MB engine are great, but so are BMW.
AMG got this nice new 6.3 standard engine with 510pk and 630nm naturally aspirated!

I am looking together with my tuner for the engine.
What's good in price we buy.
Last week we found an E55 AMG with a separate blower, bought that.
We look in it in a few weeks, when there is time.
He is on the Birmingham motorshow at the moment.

There are several M5 blocks laying around there, so we can choose what I want.
M5 will at least cost complete with motorrebuild, camshaft, steel rockers, programmeble motormanagement, exhaust, gearboxplate, clutch 25000 euro, only the materials.

The BMW configuratiion will be the same as the race-engine build
for the Belcar car from GeHa racing. +/- 575HP and 550NM, high rev's.

Sounds very good, and yep, a M5 engine cost a lot and you have to adapt it to a Ultima, so its gona be a M5 engine for your Ultima GTR?
You gona get a grey gtr with metall dark grey/black wheels? wow, almost a batmobile, nice setup...and so is a high reving V8(though I also like the raw sound of Chevy engine's) with a smoother powerband I guess so more racy.
What do you aspect of the car you gona build? mainly roaduse or only track?

If BMW V8 it's that one. MB is also tempting.
But I want to find out if V10 eventually will cost the same.

There all fantastic machine's, the V8 and V10 BMW but also the AMG V8 specialy the 6.3.
But I think you also have to look wich one will fit with min adjustments?
And ofcorse what kind of engine charakter? you like, Today I saw a new M6 with V10 when I visited my local BMW dealer Smudde, very nice and I was thinking MMM that engine in a lightweight like the Ultima GTR would make it a bit more special then a V8 wich you can find in most? Ultima's choices choices choices...

Looks to me like a bare chassis being tested for fit around the engine prior to powder coat.

Good God! That is just mind boggling! I would not have a hope in hell of working on one of those, let alone fit one in an Ultima.

Give me a an old SBC any day. A lot, lot cheaper. At least I know how they work (just!)

The length of the alluminium blocks are almost the same MB/BMW/v8
I think by thosing this hillarious long belt they won some length.
That could be handy.

Working on the engine is not so difficult,
they all have the same way of building.
German remember.

Hello Chris,
I think I do not understand the questions.

1. Do you mean what can I take off the MB engine to gain length?
Nothing, but on the BMW M5 engine,
there are a lot pullys placed in front,
so it makes the whole thing longer.

2. Do you mean what the MB e55 with blower cost?
It is in the crate almost new 6500 euro ex tax.
BMW M5 will be 8500 euro ex tax.
M5 V10 probarly will do 15000 euro ex.

6500 isn't too bad for the E55 engine wioth SC! you could flog the SC and try and stick two turbos on it!

does anyone know the size of the MD supercharger????

Next week the MB will be in.
Measure the blower, and put the numbers down.
Bought it because for that money,
I can sell it with no problem.
The reason why I am not so keen on the turbo's
is that it does not hang on the throttle.
If I want to drive on the circuit and slide the car
I need/want throttle response.
Hope the blower gives me that.

Good news, somebody today said:
He could in a 3-4 months deliver
M5/M6 v10 with gearbox for 12000 euro
9-10000 (no gearbox) for a v10 to me is an option.

Nice stuf Joop, I would not go for Turbo's eighter!
Or try to get the most out the block, or bolt a Supercharger on it...
By the way, that V10 M5 engine sounds cheap! good price though

are there many tuning options for the Merc supercharged V8??

i also heard that thjey some problems with the clutch on the blower!?!?! but i think you could get rid of it for the GTR! also can you fit a larger blower on there??

PS. speaking of blowers and motors, W2W has just released a new 1000bhp (and 1250bhp) 402 LS2 long block, would look very nice with the new 3.3ltr Whipple twin screew ontop of it, in the back of a GTR!!!
