Hello everyone,

Do you think that the LS7 could rev up to 8000 rpm with a complete Jesel valve train and make up to 650 hp /650 ft/lbs with a bunch of other modifications? N/A only, I am trying to stay away from forced injection.

Thanks for the advice,
Dan

For a while it wasn't possible to get the ls7 valve train parts so afaik jesel filled the gap. I don't know about the rpm limits but figure you could get the hp. Jesel should be able to say if it's suitable for 8000 rpm? Are you changing to forged pistons?

Didn't think you'd be able to let that one go!

Jesel make aftermaret rocker arms and valve train parts. Usually very expensive though!

Have you spoken to Russ Arao ? He was supposed to be getting his multi-valve heads to fit the LSx series engines last year sometime. Haven't seen anything on the website though.

wow, those 24 valve chevy small block heads look sweet. The promise of 9k rpm sounds pretty sweet to me. Any idea when something like this would be avaliable for an LS7?

There are a few guys running street & strip BBC's that regularly run to 7K ish rev's, most of them are using Jesel,Comp Cams or similar valve trains including stud girdles and possibly cam drive. 8K rev's would need some really significant cylinder heads to take advantage of rev's. Bottom and crank end would be a worry if these rev's are regularly used.

In n/a form, especially if you want to rev it, I think you will struggle to see 650lbft. You might achieve the HP goal, but not the torque.

Building it strong enough to rev isnt a problem, camming it do do so might make it a little nast low down though.

If you want 650/650 n/a, then there are 500ci options available now for an LSx motor. ( thats about 8.2 litre )

Your right, 650 ft lbs is pushing it. That was just being a little optimistic. I would be happy with a peak of 550.
