Burley Chaps in White Vectra in Wiltshire
Discussion
Interesting sight today. Was on my way back into Melksham when I was met by a spankingly clean white Vectra Mk1 saloon coming towards me. It was a facelift car and other than the fact it was absolutely I noticed that it had 3 aeriels on the roof, closely followed by the fact it was full of burley chaps all wearing beanie hats.
Definaltely not the usual police we have around, so not entirely sure who they were, but coincidentally a work colleague of Mr Alloypearltam saw 3 similar saloons with blue flashing lights at the front earlier in the day on his way to work through Wiltshire.

The Devon and cornwall mob have a mk3 mondeo , Ive come across the vectra in a layby on the Deverills road from mere , they were stood in a layby as i hurtled past at oooo 3 figure speeds , looked in the mirror and they were running round the car like keystone cops trying to get in to catch me up , i hid in a church car park and watched them go flying past , quite amusing
Slightly O/T , I saw a dark Lexus saloon car with blue flashing lights in the rear light cluster and in the front grille on the hard shoulder of the M4 yesterday afternoon ('tween J16 & J17) having pulled up a car, presumable for speeding - I guess that what with the scamera vans so prevalent throughout Wiltshire, there's more money about to spend on plush patrol cars

Its a black 54 plate gs430 with 1 extra aerial on the rear quarter, trawls up and down quite a lot. Been pulled twice by it late at night coming back from Wales, both times just
not
Had a similar experience on the beautiful straight roads between Cheddar and Misdomer Norton area...unmarked car that didn't sem to mind blasting past the same queue of traffic I was in...until I tried to overtake them as well!! They must have been in a good mood (or busy) though as they just flashed their sneakily hidden blue lights at me and that was all.
