Can't get into my boot!

Help, can't get into the boot and need petrol. The lock is clicking but not releasing when I press the boot release button under the dash. Can anyone please help me get the boot open. Its a 1993 Chimaera.

Try getting an assistant to push down/pull up as you click the release the lever.

Chris, this sounds like the same problem I had last October. Thread here (with search hi-lites, sorry):

I tried your idea but unfortunately although the solenoid is clicking the lock does not release. I suspect I need to get inside and see what has gone wonky. Can someone please advise me discretely.
