Was wondering if anyone can help with the following?

1. Is the engine in the GTO 3 dry-sumped? Anyone had any problems using it on track?
2. Does the cabin let water in? if so, how much and where!!??
3. Anyone posted a time round the 'ring yet???

I believe the forthcoming GTO-3T will be dry sumped. There have been reports of oil cooking when on track (oil change everytime!), not sure other than that.

I haven't seen a ring time yet, but will set one after I've taken delivery of the car (sept )

...not so worried about oil cooking - could be solved with bigger oil cooler, I guess. Would be more concerned about oil surge (slushing to one side of engine round corners and depriving cylinders on other of oil...)

the 'T' version is a long time away!

seems weird that such a track-focused car doesn't have a dry sump. 911 GT3 does, and Noble is pitched squarely at that market

I can't answer for Noble of course but I wonder if the answer is fairly straightforward - product development. We are talking about a brand new design and it seems logical to me that you would develop a 'road' car that some people MAY take on the track .... wet sump. This configuration keeps weight down and therefore 0-60 as good as possible considering the BHP available. It also keeps cost and complexity to a minimum.

You then develop the concept to provide a car that people PROBABLY will take on the track. Everything becomes more complicated - dry sump (extra weight, more complex, more expensive - two pumps), need for higher BHP to optimise all round performance etc etc.

I've used mine on track severall times. SPA . Donnington & Mallory Park. No problems at all with the sump. I had a 200+ bhp Westfield that was not dry sumped and it lasted 3 hours at Donnington B 4 I shot the big end.
The Noble lasted all day without even a burp, with longer and harder sessions, in fact I came away very satisfied and impressed with the car. For me its a track day toy and weekend pleasure.

No never.

Yes but I'm not prepared to admitt it in public. Anyway with the attention the car draws the drive down is much more fun. AUTOBAHN
