Buying Tuscan and cruising on the continent!
Discussion
Hello all
Been looking at buying a second hand mk 1 Tuscan for between about £20-25k but had given up on it given my wedding coming up in August...... BUT my wife to be (got to love her) suggested (no hints from me at all!) that we chop in my Elise and buy a Tuscan and cruise through France and Spain for our honeymoon for 3 weeks.
We aren;t getting married until the end of August but I'd appreciate any route suggestions ending up in Sevilla to give us time to see what Chateaus we should stay at on the way

There has to be a sting in the tail!!!!
If not, suggest you think about taking the MotoRail back from Avignon to Calais. This gives you more time to enjoy the drive down.
Wife and I took the TVR down to Avignon from Calais on the MotoRail overnight and then had a wonderful 2 weeks driving back up through France staying at some wonderful chateaux. We stayed at 5 different places and had an amazing time checking out the various wine growing regions.
Wife refused to drive so she could do the wine tasting
That may be the sting in the tail
. You have been warned!!
If you are interested, I could dig out the websites of the chateaux for you?

Get Alastair Sawdays book "special places to stay - French Hotels, Chateaux and Inns." It's full of fantastic places to stay and is great for planning a motoring holiday. We used it last year and will do so again this. (He also does a Spanish one).

Here's one we stayed at earlier.

Scott - unrepentant is spot on with the book suggestion and we used it last year to drive down from Calais to Avignon over an 8 day period. Also try the Relais and Chateau guides which have some smashing places.
Recommend the Parc Vercors & Ardeche Gorge in France - amazing scenery and excellent roads if you avoid peak tourist times. Also - Reims, Epernay etc have some lovely roads off the main autoroutes. Have a look at the PH "roads" forum for inspriration as well.

Just a taster while I dig out the others.

The photos of the Chateau do not lie - the situation is superb, as is the restaurant.
The roads around the Gorge du Tarn are incredible - made for TVR 2nd and 3rd gear fun.
