I know that compared to some threads this will seem pretty insignificant but it has been annoying me, especially as I can't see close up at the best of times.
The light on my speedo is very dim compared to the rev counter and the other dials,
when driving at night I struggle to read the speed, does anyone else have this problem?
I've checked the bulb, there is only 1 on the speedo compared to 2 on the rev counter,

Ed.

I was down at Fernhurst this week , and mentioned the same thing will looking a some Chimaera , they are all like this, I was told its something to do with the thinkness of the qauge and the light being further behind than the other dials.
Since then I think it also mentions this in the bible.
Sounds like its one of those "they all do that, Sir"

Yep bit of classic TVR design, think they thought it was a bit like having the revcounter in the middle, i.e. more significant.
You can put a higher wattage bulb (probably double I would guess) in and it evens them out quite nicely so I hear.

Annoyingly my speedo is green backlit but the rest are white. Not much help but more of an observation really... More beer.

Easy fix. Just replace the standard 2w bulb with a 4w one. Does the trick nicely

My tacho and speedo both have two bulbs and are equally lit (now I've changed the blown bulbs). I intially put a higher wattage bulb (only 5w v original 2w iirc) in the speedo as it was all I had around - then the speedo stopped working - when I took it out the bulb had obviously got hot as the bulb glass was distorted. Speedo was repaired (fried circuit board replaced) - got me to thinking that maybe the heat from the bulb had knackered it. Obviously could have just been conincidence.....just be careful with higher wattage bulbs - prehaps!

TVR did this on purpose, they reckon you should be only looking at the rev-counter anyway!

Blimey, the old chestnuts are sure popping up with alarming frequency these days. Maybe I've had the car too long?

My main dealer did exactly that for me, so I know it's ok to do. Doesn't quite look the same, but pretty close.
