No not an American battery, I think my battery is knackered, last couple of weekends it has struggled to start, now wont start, battery seems dead, may have knocked the ECU out as well as the fuel pump is not priming after trying to start this morning
Question, do I need a specialised battery for the Tuscan, if so which make and model.
Help much appreciated

Replaced the battery on my 2001 Tuscan 4.0L - cost around £70 from Silverstone in 2005. From memory it was a standard-looking 65AH item. You need to make sure it has base flanges on the short sides so the clamp will hold it.
Fitting is a pain, as when you remove the old one, the alarm will go off until you fit the new one, and you cannot turn it off even with the alarm key in the dash socket.
Also make sure the keys are not in the ignition and/or the driver's door is open, as the doors will lock otherwise when you disconnect it.
If you measure the old battery before ordering I can't see you would have a problem.

Replaced mine at local elect factors, v common batt which they had in stock. The job done cost about £50 and took 30mins. No doubt Halfords would do the job on a Sun if you dont mind mixing with the boy racers. V good advice in last post.. have doors open before swapping. I had no alarm probs but thats no guarantee!! D.
