993 fan noise from rear passenger side

New to the forum, looking to buy a 993, took one out from a dealer yesterday for a test drive and there was a very noticeable noise which we both considered was probably coming from the fan. The noise was there even when stationary with the engine on tick-over.I have tried a number of 993's so far, and never heard this before, the dealer agreed that I wasn't imagining it! Our only thoughts are that there must be some insulation missing in that area, the drivers side is fine.
Anybody out there with any experience of this at all?
P.S. the car is almost immaculate, the best I've looked at, and has only covered 50K.

The vehicle ventilation system has an auxillary fan on the left hand side of the engine bay. It is possible that it in the car you were trying it is noisier than it should be.
