Hi all,

I replaced my fuel filter yesterday and thought I'd cut it in half to see if it really did need changing. Well I have never seen such a dirty clogged up filter in my life !!! It was unbelievable. It may explain why I have a funny jolt of acceleration when you quickly give the car full throttle, hopefully thats now gone. Only took a few mintues to change so not too bad.

Also had to change the front wheel bearing as the old one was really worn out. Do all Series 1 had aluminum front hubs? I was amazed to find them fitted. The rear are the usual standard items. Now that all the bearings are changed, its all ready for the track day, cant wait !

Its the first C service its had. A sport 160, Y 2001 reg, with 27K on the clock so it was due I supose. I dont know what the first owner ran it on for the first 9,000 miles, but all the rest have been done on either optimax of now I use Tesco 99ron which is loads cheaper than optimax and seems to run very well in the car. This is only available from Fleetsbridge Tesco for all those that live in the Poole area !

27K on the clock? thats 43.443km I believe you can do 60.000km or 3 years whatever comes first, but depends what fuel quality you use...best always use the same brand fuel, and optimax is good! a bit more expensive but also better mpg! and better for all feul related items(valve's, filters, injectors) on the long run your cheaper of with the more expensive optimax?!
Ron99? where do you live? that 99ron is nice, but don't know if the fuel is??
Anyway, you have optimaxed your car as I read in some articles from you, well done!
