Hi
I'm planning a first trip to Goodwood this year, could anyone offer advice on things like good stands, things we must see or do while there, in fact anything at all about the event, we're travelling some distance and would hate to come home to find we've missed something

Thanks.

Well let me start you off with a warning, I have been several years now and it just seems to get busier and busier. I only go on the Friday now and I shudder to think what it's like on Sunday! Fortunatly there is a lot to see so I tend to stroll around and just watch the actual hill occasionally. Still like going though. RIch...

Go for the grandstands around the House. the one on the approach to molecombe is rubbish as everyone's braking for the corned when they go past you.
It's worth hanging around the paddock entrances as tehy swap batches of cars in and out. You can get really close up. Also, go further up the hill as it gets much less crowded.

On the other hand, Molecombe Corner has more "incidents" than any other section of the course.

I don't spend as lot of time watching the hillclimb these days. For me the event is all about scouting around the vast paddock areas as there are so many famous cars and people to see.

The event has been all advance-ticket only for a few years which has gone a long way towards sorting the overcrowding out.

if you can be bothered with the treck, walk right up to the end of the hillclimb, sometimes the cars do a bit of a donut before parking (although its frowned upon), and quite often the drivers mill about and chat to the public.its also far less crowded than the rest of the festival.
