New to Porsche (Boxter)

Hi all,

No special purpose for this, just thought I'd say hi, as I've been around on Piston Heads for a while now and have just moved from a TVR Chimaera 500 (please forgive me, oh beast from the dark side) to a lovely silver Boxster S (2000 W reg 40,100 miles, manual).

Great drive, so different form the TVR (obviously with both a + and a - in different departments) but really really enjoying her. I will no doubt have a million questions which you have no doubt, heard before.

Yes, it reminds me very much of my Lotus Elan (as far as cornering goes but the Boxster has more ooomph and a hellllll of a lot more build quality, equipment etc.) and yes I do miss the gurgle/rumble/powered by God sound. However, the Boxster has a sports exhaust and I think (not too familiar with the ins and outs)...after about 3,000 revs or so and accelerating hard, sounds very nice indeed. Trouble is, to hear it, I am tending to put my foot down a lot (which is nice).

So many questions about this and that...one thing I noticed today, was the rear boot release cable seems to have come off/snapped as I cannot open it by the handle, (which feels slack) but it does open by remote.
