My colleague and i are going to the Historic Monaco GP in May in my 911.I have a day and a half to get from Calais to Monaco and I have almost 3 days to get from Monaco to Zeebrugge .I would like to drive through the Alps (Stelvio Pass) on the way back if feasible. Can anyone advise me on a good route to take or places to stay with secure parking. Is there anything in Germany to see? any thoughts or comments would be greatly appreciated!

The Col de la Bonnet is a must !!!

About an hour or so north west of Monaco (near Gap)

Highest mountain road in Europe, there are a few others round there too

If you want to do the stelvio (not done that one yet), that would mean coming up through Switzerland i think, which will cost
you for their Mandatory road tax c £50 i think.

Lots of options open to you though.

When you drive through the Alps, and you want to use the Autobahn on your way back, make sure to drive via Singen/Bodensee, and not Basel, since the A81 is much nicer to drive up to Stuttgart than the A5.
