Hi, can someone tell me how to replace the cover on the driving lights ?
One of my covers have cracks in it and I would like to replace it with the "polycarb driving light covers" from eliseparts.
The covers seems to be attached very well and I'm afraid I might break anything. Has anyone tried this ?

If they are the big perspex covers that cover the main headlights, then all that holds them on is double sided sticky foam. There is usually a small gap at the bottom of the cover in the middle. THis is to allow for air to air get in and stop condensation etc... Just prise them off, use the biggest flat head srew driver you have and put some material against the bodywork, this will stop you marking it with the screw driver. Good luck.

hi, no it's not the headlamp covers (fortunately they haven't cracked ...yet ). It's the 'spotlight' driving lamps.

Here's a link :

Sorry guys - I answered 2 threads in succession. It posted the same info in 2 placed - odd!. Anyway, what I originally said has been said already - if you have covers, they pull off, if not, the glass is cracked and the driving light needs replacement. You will not need to remove the clam to do this.

Just found this: www.lotus-elise.nl/Buyers_Guide/Technical/Exterior/exterior.html

quote: Carefully examine the driving lights for damages, the glass itself cannot be repaired of replaced, the complete driving light unit needs te be replaced when the glass is broken. To do so, the front clamshell needs to be removed.

Seems like those covers need to go on top of the existing cover, I thought they were meant to replace it. Oh well, guess I have to take of the front clam (then I can replace the headlights to LHD version at the same time )

I'm sure the Bridgestones won't break in the same way the original driving lights have, but you'll never fit them in the hole in the clam.

Tee hee!

Seriously though, it sounds like the lamps themselves have cracked so you'll need to replace those first (not a quick job) then protect them with either the moulded or vac formed covers (easy stick on)

See above - a bit of a malfunction took place there! I had answered a different thread.
