Stalling when fan comes on

Does anyone else have this problem? I believe that my radiator fan is set to come on at 100 degrees. If you are sitting in stationary traffic with the engine idling, as soon as the fan cuts in when the temp hits 100, the revs drop to 600ish rpm and then pick up again. Sometimes it will completely stall and be a complete arsehole to start again.

I assume its just the extra load of the fan operating that causes it but is there a fix for it? It just seems a bit extreme that it drops the revs so much. Idle is set at 1000rpm so its not as if its too low to start with.

If it's hot it will always be an arsehole to start due to fuel vaporization. I don't really know how the ECU works, but I suspect it runs a cold start map whenever you start it, which isn't compatible with a hot engine.

Other cars I've owned have had an "idle compensator" for when a big load is engaged (fans, aircon, etc.) Maybe yours is up the chute?

Mine suffers a similar problem but only when the second fan clicks in !

Do the boys with the ECU tune-ups have any counters for it ?
