Car been parked up for two weeks, pulled off drive this morning, usual sticking disks (happens all the time, never a problem). Now when I brake, horrendous vibration, like mini ABS.)

Car fine when I parked it up, feels like warped disks or something. Anyone experienced this?
Cheers..

nah it's just a build up of crap on teh discs / pads. You need to scrub it off by using the brakes, apply gently then increase pressure. Do this a few times (preferably up a quiet road!!) and all will be well

cheekymonkey's correct. i just zoomed up to 80 and then applied increasing brake pressure, whilst paying particular attention to not contact the scenery.

Don't forget brakes aren't very good when you're doing this so don't leave it until it's too late!

BTW I've noticed since changing to Greenstuffs, the handbrake hasn't stuck on

perfectly normal on the OEM pads n discs ...PAgids dont do it - think its something to do with the compund and absorbing water etc.

One day after a long journey and heavy rain, left the car overnight on my gravel drivel - theyd stuck so bad in the morning I couldnt get any grip to unstick them and get the car off the drive.....that was when I changed to Pagids !

Ditto - I have also had no sticking problems with pagids - oems were a nightmare. I took them off with 50% still left on the pads.

Not when they're cold... (use: 11,500 road miles, 500 track miles/year)

The Pagid RS 14 / 15's are not great when col. The RS 42's are non-ceramic and work fine when cold. They also last longer on thetrack, though are not quite as hardcore a track item as the RS14's.

Oh yes they do! She was parked all safe and warm in the garage for 3-4 day over xmas. When I went to drive out of the garage the wheels would not rotate at all. It wasnt until I got to the path and road with proper tarmac that the wheels started turning. It does lock with Pagids and it is far worse.

Are you spoiling for a tiff on the race course? Are you angling to show off on your new shocks at n/ weald?

I am just the man to be embarassed by you.

How is that obsolete elastic band you call an engine doing? Has the head gasket gone yet or is that tomorrow? Difficult to find a replacement seeing as the company who made them are now on the scrap heap or is that where you would find a replacement?

Nicely bored out 1.2 metro engine.

Everyone knows the K is made of chocolate - I was just doing the natural pot vs kettle thing here. Accepting that Gooby's disca are the same as mine anyway. I still get bound brakes after a couple of wet days - not as bad as with the oems, but still happens with the pagids. Never found it a major problem with either car. Heck I am looking forward to the 27th - will be great to see you all again.

crikey

i left my 6mth old 111s outside for 10 days with no use over xmas, and the brakes were bound solid when i returned.

Same problems as below - feels lke disks warped (although not).

Massive vibrations under braking all the way up thru the steering, but I cant seem to remove the crap from the disks left by the pads. I think they need sanding down now and the tracking will certinly need re aligning. The car is essentially unuseable without substantial engine braking even at low speeds.

What a crap product experience. This also happened on my 135R too.

Do you guys use handbrake or what?(DO NOT) or are most elise's/exige's when parking them still left with some pressure that way that the pads ar on the disk?(or just wrong made? normaly when you press the pads on the disk they come back a bit when the pressure is of and leaf a small gap between disk and pad) that way it can be possible that most of the disk is very cold and where the pads ar not that cold? that way could cause some wobbling the disk because of different expand! also be very carefull when the disks are very hot! don't stand still to long keeping your pads unnessesarely long on the disks when they are very hot, that way the disk cools a bit down where the pads are and could cause a bit wraped?wobbling disks too
Though still a bit strange, most ordenary cars when parked outside for more then 10 days don't have those problems when parked only in 1st gear, I've heard it a lot on this forum though.

Sorry to hear about that.. I was panicking, hence the post. All the way to work and back the disks felt warped. Bit harsh braking when convenient sorted it as advised...

Ok really good idea with only a few drawbacks. The handbrake holds the rear wheels. The brakes bind on the front wheels.

Nice try Baldrick
