Does anyone know if it's true they will replace the frame if it gets damaged in anyway, no matter how old the sunglasses are?

I've heard of a few people sending back damaged frames which were replaced free of charge, but can't find any evidence of such on they're website. I mangaged to mangle mine whilst skiing last week and although I've managed to bend them back into roughly their original shape, they don't quite feel right on my face. Cheers

hi....i have had loads of oakleys....won't wear anything else.....my first pair snapped after about 2 years so i phoned them saying it was done in a mountain bike accident and that i loved them and wanted to continue being a customer....so they sent me a new pair at cost price (£55 instead of the £110 i paid in the shops!!!)....go for it

Nope, it's not true I'm afraid. I wear regular Oakley prescription glasses alongside my sunglasses. I broke the arm off the regular ones (Rx-Square Wire 2.0) and they were about three years old. It was the spring part that failed. I rang up the Oakley service centre and they couldn't repair them FOC, but could service them for £50. "Service" in this case was put my original lenses in a brand new frame, which I didn't think was too bad.

Aww Rats! I don't know about that, I had mine fall out of my pocket and accidentally trod on them, ended up buying another set exactly the same. Ouch!

I've gone through many pairs and they've always replaced them. If they are less than a year old its FOC but after that I've paid £15 for repairs/replacements.

Brilliant glasses these, I've had the same pair for twenty years. Seventeen new frames and fourteen lenses, but still going strong

I go weak at the knees for Oakleys!

Ive got a pair of the Titanium Square wires, pricey at £200 but ive had them for nearly 4 years and they are still in very good condition.

Can you buy the socks that go on the arms anywhere? Or is it a case of sending them off to Oakley?
Any local Oakley stockist should have them for about a tenner. Comes as a kit with new nosepieces too IIRC. Failing that I'm sure you can order them from the Oakley website. Dare I say I'm on my third pair of grips. [/Trigger]

Really? Would be great if that's true, although I suspect it's just a vicious rumour.

I wonder if sending them the video of my wipe-out will help. I was holding the camcorder during the spill which happened down a red run at high speed so looked pretty impressive Sadly my Oakleys were in my jacket pocket and took the full impact of my body. Ironically, had I been wearing them they would probably still be fine!

Mind if I ask where you went for those and how much you paid? I need new prescription glasses and had my eye on those...

Henry Smith and Hamilton. They are official Oakley stockists. Very friendly and helpful. IIRC the frames were about £140 ish depending on which you go for. I had new ultrathin lenses put in mine at the weekend in Vision Express and they were £138 the pair fitted.

Third pair of lenses and second set of frames, I've had this pair ages

I'm now on my second pair of Oakley Rx prescription frames. The first O2 pair were worn for around four years without problem. They have just been replaced with a pair of Thread 4.0 frames. Highly recommended.

Under a year old and they will do things for you.
However - fault has to be due to manufacturing defect - not applicable to the pair I reversed over in a ferrari 348 then! Oh well!

In short no free lunch - used to be lifetime guarantee - but no longer I'm afraid.

I contacted Oakley about the 'socks' as they were getting a bit shabby after 4 years, they sent me a new pair FOC
