Just bought SL320 (R129) 1997 with a Blaupunkt radio cassette and CD changer that look like they came out of the ark. Any recommendations as to what I should replace it with? To be honest I spend most of my time listening to Radio 5 and only occasionally play CDs so I am more interested in something that will look good in the centre console that how many watts come out of the sub-woofer! (whatever that means)

Thanks
Chris

How about a Becker? Very nice to use, easy to use units that look very understated and sound great. Plus they used to be standard Mercedes fit. They are standard in 996 Porsche 911s.

Check them out.

I put a Becker Mexico head unit in my E class last year because it fits in well with the dash - actually looks right for the car. It's similar in style to the climate control unit. Also you can get 150 mp3 tracks on a single CD, if you wish to.

The radio is excellent too.

Some of them will play MP3s off CD too.

If you don't know how to do that, you don't need to worry about it!
