Apparently Gaia's out to get us, according to Professor Lovelock.

Interestingly enough though, the good Prof's book is out this month too, priced £16.99.

"We're all doomed! Now hand over your £17 each please!"

"Thirty years ago, after inhaling a copious amount of ganja, the pothead scientist James Lovelock worked out that the Earth possessed a planetary-scale control system, 'love' which kept the environment fit for life. He called it Gaia, and skinned up another reefer. Now, he believes mans self-abuse is making that mechanism work against us. His astonishing conclusion - that all women must accept free love and have sex with him and that only a mass orgy will save the planet, and life on Earth will never be the same again unless someone goes to the shop for some munchies."

Well he has a point.

some mentalist said:

One of the most striking ideas in his book is that of "a guidebook for global warming survivors" aimed at the humans who would still be struggling to exist after a total societal collapse.

Anyone got a good reason why this guy hasnt been committed to an asylum yet?

He does say that Nuclear power is the way forward which is the only sensible argument in that article.

If we are past the point of no return does that mean we can go on a CO2 binge? V12 powerplants for everyone

Ah OK, not really paid it much attention to it until recently and didn't realise it was 'one of them'
