The Noble - what a car!!
Discussion
I had my first ever ride in - and also got to drive a Noble this weekend! Absolutely fantastic! The steering was so light, it felt like the perfect car for the track. Throttle response was alsio incredibly light, but Im sure you would get used to it over time, and wearing cowboy boots probably doesnt help either
Are they all turbo charged as standard? The one I drove had a turbo, and it was very easy to break traction
Im new to tracking my car (TVR) and not used to the incredibly light controls (which I think are a plus) - from the point of view of track days and driving in general, and other makes of car, can everyone chip in with their comments on what makes a noble such a good car to buy? Where does it excel, and what are they typically compared to?
Would anyone agree a noble is a more trackable car than a cerbera? Ive never uttered a negative word about my own car before, but I cant help but wonder if (with more than a few fleeting moments practise) I'd find a noble a more responsive and trackable vehicle.
You really dont see many nobles on the roads, whats the pose factor like?

Are noble only making 100 cars per year?
I would Certainly Agree that the noble is a much better car for the track than the Cerbera, I had a GTO-3R for 16 months which unfortunatly i could not afford to keep, and now have a cebera 4.2. IMO the noble is much more stable and more precise, you are able to push much harder in the noble the car feels under you, and although it is easy to break traction in the noble it never seems quite as likely to bite you as the cerbera does!
On a track the cerbera feels rather cumbersome compared to the noble which feels light and agile!
Hope that helps.

ukbob, sorry but we cannot have another Noble owner called Rob - there are already too many!
To be honest, the cerbera appeals more to me as its much louder, more racous and evil sounding, sets off other car alarms, frightens dogs, space-ship-interior(passenger comments) and meatier 100+ performance... I really dont want to sell my cerbie. But for the first time, I found myself impressed to the point that Id consider a noble, ideally as a second car (Now way can I afford it! so I cant see it happening) But the noble is just so... great! Maybe one day I'll end up owning one. It certainly felt better around the track than my cerbera, but im so new to driving/tracks/performance I hardly know what to look for - it felt more grown up than a cerb, and better suited to the track. Is there anyone in Sussex who has one, who'd like to meet up? Will be looking out for other noble owners, dont really get time to go to many PH events/meets/runs, but will keep my eyes open.

I lost traction a few times (Those turbos are nuts!) and I felt much safer and more in control, when the cerbera goes wonky it feels like you are riding on the back of a wild boar on nitrous. Controlable, but less precise, more angry in that way.

I'd definitely like another go

OK Rob, have you ever driven a go-kart? The Noble is like a big go-kart and, IMHO, the TVR is not! You need to consider/reconsider what you want from your motor - yes the TVR looks good, is fast, has a great exhaust note, etc., but is not comfortable on track (again IMHO). You'll find that many Nobility chose the marque for its track manners and are to be found on tracks grinning widely up and down the land and further afield!
Get a Noble and you'll never go back to a tivver (I've had two*)!
• edited to say two Tivvers that is!)

Id love a sagaris (looks, tvr) but wont buy one, dont like the sound of the speed 6 (vs the cerb) although I read it was more like the noble by the sounds of it, as regards performance, not that anyone has compared the two, just going by comments on PH. Tell me about your noble vs your TVR. The cerb is my only car (cant afford another) so going without a boot isnt really an option. Thats not to say I might be tempted one day in the future. The noble experience was an unforgettable one(!)

Had mine 6 months now and still can't get rid of this stupid grin.![]()
IMHO there is really nothing to compare it with in the price bracket.

Rob,
No disrespect to the mighty Cerb (I'm a card carrying member of the Holy Order, myself!) but the Noble is just in a different league.
Lee Noble is self evidently a 'chassis guru' and my several bouts of Joustic exposure across several incarnations left me with only one word in mind: Tron.
Yessiree, this car switches immediate direction at ridiculous speed like no other car on the planet: bang! 90 degree left or right...utterly breathtaking.
Really, I should have one.
In fact, I'm just going to add it to my list of potential punts for next year's official mid life crisis.

That's the spirit Der!
Bob, whilst I am an admirer of Blackpoolian creations, and indeed a FPUM of the Tivver Car Club, there really is nothing to compare to a Noble on track that can also whaft you down the motorway at 1 of said speed units at just slightly over tickover.
Sagaris seems to get close, but the Cerby, whilst a fine car in itself, and one that is just at the limits of bling bling for me interior wise (I hanker after the older, more staid, interiors of previous creations), just couldn't compare.
I liked it so much, after two years, I bought another. My only conundrum now is if I keep the M400 when the M14 turns up....

You folks must have been reading my mind! I have a 4.5 Cerb that meets all my requirements. On previous Track days it has made me smile like an eejit. Last weekend I did my first Track day @ Brands & loved every minute in the Cerb, I was lucky enough to do about 10 laps in a Tamorra which showed up the weaknesses of the Cerb's Handling.
Anyway, whatever Car I was in these blasted Nobles kept leaving me standing! Now I know I'm not the most profeciant driver in the world...but maybe, just maybe I had a Noble I could try & keep up with the others....
Time for a Change, I love my Cerb, but now I think I need a 'modern' car, so I'll be scouring all things Noble for a possible replacement.

For me, track days come second. I love the cerb for its sound, interior, looks etc... if I had the money, Id buy a Noble as a track day car. The cerb is my daily driver and I need the boot space etc.
Ive added it to the list of "one day" cars (which, aside from the Noble is pretty much an empty list
). I wonder why the cerber is so far behind the noble in terms of handling, in another league as mentioned. Its not like the cars were designed 50 years appart. What does the Noble compete with on Track, and (dare I say it) why arnt there more yellow ones!
