Hey nice corsa... Super smooth is super sexy, I am guessing you checked in the 2.0 Calibra lump? I like the 172 I know what you mean about the handling but why didn't you go for the civic Type R or Leon Cupra R?
Heres my motor... its a EG Civic, its a 1600c honda D series engine, its only about 150bhp but the VTEC makes it all the worth while! I am planning on getting an R33 gts...if my insurance lets me, but even knowing this civic is a insurance group 14.

Gazboy said:Exactly, see many hundreds of other comments from many hundreds of other people on here as to why. However, each to their own - yes, if they are true enthusiasts who drive carefully, sensibly and with due consideration for others then fair enough. As you rightly said, much better than ...
"but if I saw either of those cars on the road I'd give them a very wide berth."

(cos the rolleyes was abit harsh)

Oli.
(Edited to quickly add the smilie 'cos I don't want to appear too harsh to Gazboy!)

I understand what you mean... some of the true enthusiast are sterotyped as "boyracers" or people with no common sense, driving cars like crazy cats. Well its a minority which spoils it for the rest... you can tell a pure enthusiast by the quality of his work... example... both my car & the fella's below, smooth clean looking cars, sense kits with a smooth flow. Boy racers tend to add any tack with no co-ordination or badly added whichs they did themself in a few hours.
It took me 2 months to build my car, from completely standard (even to the wheels) to what it is now... Even though I only did 30% of the work it was hard work... We did it to perfection to smooth lines & make everything matchup... Its shows now, when you park & come back to see loads of people taking pictures... or getting comments from not young boys but much older people =D
Ohhh about the bad boy bonnet... I love it...gives the car a aggresive look, esp when I turn on the Angel projector lights looks awesome, just wanted to give the car some character!

Workmanship? Hard to tell from a low-res picture like that. But it looks to my eyes as if the grille is making a bid for freedom in the middle ... Vile, hideous. (Or did I say that earlier.)
Oli.
Thanks for the mixed comments!!
Well like the majority of people on here with tvrs, ultimas, kit cars, porsches etc etc i love my cars. But at my age and time in life i simply cannot afford to purchase such cars, insure them or run them.
So i take a normal car and turn it into a fun car and one that has many hours grafted into it. Such as the corsa, yes its not to everyones taste but it was my hobby.
And im afraid that i do fall into that category i was out there doing work on my car, cleaning, taking to shows and meets, just like other people do with the top end stuff.
Now I have the sensible option of the clio, and when i have finished my degree i would like something possibly Jap as insurance may allow and i will also have a salary.
