I had a good chat with Ken Page who is in charge of the HSV Performance centre when I was at the official announcment at the Autosport show last Thursday.

He was very keen to meet the UK HSV owners so I have invited him to the "Ace" on Sunday.

I guess as owners our main concern will be how much real world experience the engineers have with HSVs, compared with some other companies...

Their press release suggests they will be technicians from OZ who are currently working for HSV.

So when do they expect to be selling the HSV's here though? I wonder how competitive on pricing they will be. Be good to find out before I go home and get one.

I'd also like to know when 4 dr cars will be available. Might have to re-think my current plans!

I did wonder if you could really be parted with an HSV for long, hope you are recovering Tom.

Sounds like Tom is feeling fine again..

Yeah, hope your feeling better dude...

BTW, trying to source your old wreck, waiting for a guy who can get a Cat B wreck to let me know. Depends on how much they want for it really.

Excellent.

I wonder if this has anything to do with the new "VE" model on its way, plus the current lack of a large Vauxhall RWD sedan as per the old Omega. Ive heard rumours of the Holden based platform replacing it!

I can see the V6 offered from Vauxhall and the performance models perhaps by this crowd and the VXR dealers... We will see.

No doubt you guys have all seen the new 6L L76 engine with LS7 style heads is due out next month? www.ls1.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=49289

Certainly makes me think! I didn't really want to go down the buy another VX & put all my go-faster bits on it route, as the car would still be 5 years old & I wouldn't ever know its true history.
Anyway, I've accepted a great offer from N-U which didn't include the wreck! I'll post the details when it's all finalised.
I love the Monaro, but given a choice, would always have a 4dr HSV. People expect a coupe to be fast, but the 4dr has the "Q" appeal that has always made me love fast saloons.
I'm tempted to get a Discovery 3 which would be a great family car & would be used off-road, use the Saab Aero & Smart for business/commuting & maybe get a lightweight track car which the Disco could tow.
I also think using a really fast car on the public roads is getting tougher every year. I know that I've been very lucky with fast cars & maybe a break wouldn't be a bad idea.
Having had a crash were both vehicles were only doing 30mph & seeing the damage, makes you realise how bad things would be at much higher speeds.
Having said all that, the VZ R8 Clubsport "I just want one".
Edited to say, thanks for asking about me, I have to have weekly chiropractic treatment & sitting/driving, walking or standing for any longish period of time is painful, but I hope I can be repaired.
