Growl Update Thread

Basically we'll use this forum to update peeps on whats happening, whos coming etc as the other info of the weekend can get lost in all the chat and banter.
Mr Maggit, Mr and Mrs FFG and Jeffsy and myself will hopefully be updateing as we go along.

The Weekend Growl for 2006 is the first Weekend in August, 5/6th, at:

Stratford-upon-Avon,

Double rooms are £60, singles are £50, including Breakfast. Note, that's per ROOM, Not per person.
Hotel phone number is 01789-740000, The main night is Saturday August 5th, although I'm sure a few will be staying the Friday night too
B-B-Q will be at The White Horse on Saturday night.

The Satuday night BBQ
BBQ
Location: White Horse Pub, 5 minutes walk from Ettington Chase Hotel.
When: Saturday 5th August, start around 6pm
Cost: £8 per head
Capacity: 100
Booking:
On a first come first served basis. Once the capacity is reached
that is it so get your booking in early to avoid disappointment.
If the capacity isn't reached there will be a limited number of extra meals on the
evening which will be payable to the pub at £12 per head.
Priority will be to pre booked places and there is no guarantee of a meal on the night.
There are no other food options available at the pub on the Saturday night.

There 10 rooms (minimum) available for the Friday night plus we have secured
another 15 for the saturday night.
There are therefore still 25 rooms available for the Saturday. See prices and ref above. to book.
So if you havent booked you havent got much time left and many rooms left so get Booking.
We also have the whole Hotel to ourselves as ther is nothing else booked in so Party time
Also there are over 60 booked for the Saturday night BBQ and places are running out quick too on this front,see above to book.
Hopefully soon the release of all attendess will be annouced. We want to get all confirmed before realising so We thank your for your patience on that front..belive me it will be worth the wait.

Joolz (Track Car Solutions)has confirmed he will be at the Growl with his Rolling Road.
Details are
- Power runs only
- 6 runs on the Saturday and 5 on the Sunday. This will enable Joolz to be able to talk with you and also enjoy the show/have a rest!!!
- Price will be £30.00 per car.
How to apply
- Please email jeffsy through pistonheads (or the TVRCC forum) if you want to be considered for a run. In order to make it fair and as we anticipate this may be over subscribed, I will accumulate all the entries provided and do a draw of names. - When you submit your name please advise preferred time and preferred day. We envisage starting at 10.00am on Saturday and allowing an hour for each one (with 1.00pm being lunch) with a last run at 4.00pm on the Saturday. On the sunday 10.00am, hour for lunch with the last run being 3.00pm. This will enable setting up/dismantling time and also let Joolz talk with you (and get to the BBQ on the Saturday night!!) - The cut off for entries will be the 30th June and will post the schedule the following week. - Lucky drivers will then need to post their cheques direct to Track Car by Friday 14th July so that the schedule can be confirmed at their end. - It goes without saying that priority will be given to Griff owners and, in the unlikely event that the slots do not get filled, we will open it up to other flavours.
Bookings for the BBQ are running ot quickly there are only 30 places left out of 100 as from today so get booking see above.

Beer and Curry night - Friday 4th August
As people need to get to Ettington and also to maximise available drinking time we have decided that the "beer" element of this trip will be at the White Horse, Ettington.
ASSEMBLE at the White Horse anytime Friday...the earlier the better (burp!!)
COACH DEPARTS THE WHITE HORSE AT 8.30pm on Friday 4th August
ARRIVES AT "CHUTNEYS", STRATFORD at approx 8.50pm/9.00pm
Mr&Mrs FFG have negotiated an excellent deal with the restaurant for the following menu
- Popadom and dips on arrival
- Mixed starter of Sheekh Kebab,Chicken Tikka and Onion Pakora
- Choice of any Chicken,Meat or Vegetable dish off the menu (NB Prawn,King Prawn and fish dishes available at a supplement of £2.00 per head payable on the night)
- Any Naan and/or rice off the menu
COACH DEPARTS CHUTNEYS 11.00pm and returns to the White Horse for a nightcap (or 3), for those who wish
NB If you have any special dietary requirements then please let me know. Veggies are catered for above I believe as Im sure the restaurant will sort the starters out if required
PRICE...the bad bit
The price for the meal is £10.95 per head which, with a coach for 35 people works out at £17.50 per head for the meal and travel. This price covers the cost of the full coach so if we fill it there should be a few quid left over which I will put back into beer/wine/restaurant tip on the night.

According to his maths he has 27 confirmed - therefore we have space for 8 more....roll up roll up - it would be GREAT to fill the coach.

there will be some additional beers, probably real ales, for the night, over 110
already booked, capacity is 120 now, there is a band playing from 6.30 till
9 (Bramble) all included in the price.
