state of play with 3rd party mechanical warranties???

Hi All,
I used to have a warranty with Warranty holding but I understand they went bust. What other options are available these days?

There's the AA one at £50 a year, £500 max claim x 3 per year, £25 excess

It appears that the AA only do the £500 claim limit one now. They used to have one with a £1000 claim limit.

I've got the £500 AA cover too. Although at £500 a claim its not going to cover the cost of say, a new clutch. It still eases the sting a bit.

At £50 a year its a bargain too. My policy paid out £400 for a new damper when mine snapped last year.

I've got the old £1000 one aswell, it paid for a new clutch last year & they've agreed to pay £975 towards my new head gasket this month.

So how does one go about this then? I don't see a link on their web page and I'm not a member (with the other lot).

You need to be a member...choose your AA cover eg option 100 & you will see a menu on the left, select "parts & labour"
