Following a discussion Scottster and I have been having this morning with one of our dealer "friends" (only joking Joel), I'm wondering if anybody has ever sold their LHD porker back in Germany. If so, what sort of price did you get compared to LHD cars over here. How much hassle was it ?

It is an interesting point - we're both guessing that no-one has done it due to the hassle factor and it probably doesn't make financial sense unless you have something unique anyway.

So come on Herman, you're keeping very cagey about why you're selling and what is gonna replace the Pork??

I'm still going with the 964RS and 928S4/GTS idea. Best of both worlds and all that.

I looked at a car at Intaporsch, near Brighton, on Saturday. While I was there they told me that Hermanns & Schmitz recently bought 2 LHD RS's (can't remember if they were 964 or 993) off them and took them back to Germany, so there must be some profit in it.

The prices H&S charge, I'm not surprised there's a profit in it for them and I suppose RS's are a different story from Carreras and the like as they're appreciating in value at the mo.

As a seller, what I really need is a weak pound against the Euro for the sale then a sudden recovery after I've got the money and I'm RS hunting.

I thought about getting an RS from Germany (I have imported cars many times before with Scottster), but the prices were the same in the UK (ie just as high!), so I saved the hassle and the ferry ticket.
