Can Am owners, or any one else who may know.
How is living with a Can Am from day to day. How is the wind, is it really windyat speed, noisy? With the half wind screen, with the whole wind shield? What are the dirrefences?
Does A/C do anything? Nice for hot days in traffic?
Are hellicopter vents a good option for the Can Am, or is getting wind in the cockpit no problem.
At the track, how does the Can Am compare to the GTR?
A question for you tall guys. I am 6'4" and a bit worried the roll bar might not be high enough for track saftey regulations. I heard that you have to have a "broom stick" worth of clerance between your helmet and the bottom of the roll bar at a lot of race tracks. Can anyone confirm this? Any one around the same height who races there Can Am without problems? I talked to Richard at Ultima, and he said that they could do a custom bar that is taller, but that would not allow me to use the soft top, unless I had it modified to fit.
How is the soft top? Worth having? Easy to put up? Does it keep the rain out? It it real loud as far as wind noise ect...

I bought my Can-Am last year. The Aeroscreen is fun to say the least. Gives you and your passengers some wicked hair styles. But on the down side I was hit on the head by a chunk of rubber bump stop coming of a truck. Not funny! So I'm in the process of changing to the full screen. I would say yes to the helicopter vents they are worth having. A/C thats up to you and how hot your summers are. Probably worth it as it gets pretty hot in mine and I'm in the UK. With the aeroscreen you get the heat from the radiator in your face too!

It great fun to drive the canam with aero screen, but gets a bit much on long journeys particularly at 6'4". The airsreem will hit you full in the face. There is always the drop floor option that will help. Noise comes mainly from engine which is one of the reasons for driving the car. There is a tremendous amount of heat build-up which is better with aeroscreen along as you are not directly in the sun when you have no protection. I would say both aircon and vents a must. Its good to use both screens although in practice the full screen gets used 90% of the time, with the added option of the soft-top roof. From a day to day point not sure there is a great difference as do not believe a great idea to take any Ultima out in the wet.
The wind noise and buffeting in mine with the full screen was less than our Porsche boxter, I was very impressed with it.
I drove mine through very heavy rain with the soft top on and never got even a little wet. It's not perfect but it will definatelly stop you getting wet if fitted correctly. Getting in it with the roof up is a different matter.
With the full screen there is almost no airflow movement in the cockpit and the helicopter vents are something I fitted after months of using it without as I definatelly recomend them.
Air con won't be as efficient as a GTR however the cockpit is good at retaining heat so I suspect it will be good at retaining cool air as well. Regardless I am fitting it to my canam replacement that is also a covertible.
