Is it possible to read your mail? I've set the POP settings etc. according to Gmails help page but it just times out when trying to "find the server"....

Try re-checking all details, make sure ports are right etc..
Has to be exact.. there might be some more settings hidden away in an Advanced menu or something that you have missed..?

Google Mail requires SSL - can your phone support this?

settings for G(oogle)Mail are

server: pop.googlemail.com
port: 995

Well, that's what I use with Thunderbird

I think its the SSL that's the problem.

I did find a website called WapGoogleMail or something similar which allows you acces to gmail through your wap browser but I wasn't so keen on giving my Gmail password to a third-party site.....

Nice one Frik, that's what I was looking for (dunno why my searching never turned up the URL..)

Unfortunately, it seems only a specific list of phones are supported at the moment. And guess what? Yep, mine's not on it.

Bugger.
