..by that, I mean law and religion.

A couple of days ago, I read that the Muslim population of the UK stands at 2%- but , adversely, 10% of our current prison population is Muslim. The article then said that Muslim prisoners have a high re-offender likelyhood.

This seemed disproportional to me so I've just done a Google and found this (albeit pro-Muslim) site:
www.mpacuk.org/content/view/1245/103/

Much as I admire the more moderate comments from some of those participants, this one just struck me as playing the religion card:

I blame the British education system for the mis-education and de-education of  Muslim youth. I do not blame the Muslim community or the parents.

I know some teachers who would be appalled by that comment. When in Rome?
My employer is Muslim as well as colleagues and friends but it p*sses me off when we're told that common criminality among minorities is our own fault!

Law and religion- do you agree with the thread title?

Law and religion should be kept separate IMO. Forcing people to behave according to religious rules is really bad news. If you're religious you behave according to the rules because you want to. If you're not religious you really hate being forced to behave so, and are likely to decry religion as a result.

It is not something that can be blamed on Muslims as such. Most immigrant groups of predominantly unskilled workers have high levels of criminality among either themselves or their offspring. This helps put hysteria about the 'disproportionate' use of stop and search in perspective.
