Super Duper Charged Exige
Discussion
Toyota engines are very durable but general power delivery of nos is not sympathetic to long engine life and reliability. Combine that with a SC system and I think you would be asking for loads of trouble.
The toyota lump (surprisingly) has had very little tuning work done to it. But older generations of toyota engine could handle shed loads of power.
The sw20 engines could take 350 to 400 bhp on stock block with stock pistons and I know a couple of mad people who twincharged a 4agze (Mk1 Mr2) to 450 bhp with just changing the pistons, wasnt very reliable but bloody good fun!.
Fensport have had a play with the 2zzge and after light pistons, ported head and a SC they have made 260 bhp. Fensport are not know for "wimp" power returns. I guess this is about the best at the moment. I think 280 bhp is the best Lotus will do at the moment.
